What is an 8 Ball Pool?

8 Ball Pool is a billiards game played on a pool table. The billiards game consists of 15 balls: 1 white ball, 1 black ball, 7 solid balls, and 7 striped balls. The goal of the 8-ball pool is to pocket all of your balls (either solids or stripes) and then pocket the black ball.

In order to play an 8-ball pool, you will need a pool cue, pool balls, and a pool table. You can either find a pool table at a local bar or pool hall or purchase your own. Once you have a pool table, you must learn the game's rules.


8 ball pool is a billiards game that is played with 16 balls and a cue ball. The goal of the billiards game is to pocket all the balls, except for the 8-ball. The black 8-ball is the last ball to be pocketed, and the player who pockets it wins the game.


To pocket a ball, the cue ball (the white ball in the pool game) must first be hit into the ball that you want to pocket. You can then hit the cue ball into any other ball on the table. If you pocket the cue ball, you will lose the turn.





The Rules of 8-Ball Pool


In the beginning, the game of 8-ball pool is played with a cue ball and 15 numbered balls. The player must first determine which ball is to be pocketed by striking it with the cue ball. After the cue ball has been pocketed, the player must then strike the ball that is closest to the cue ball but not the 8-ball. This is called the "striking ball". If the player pockets the 8-ball before the other ball, they lose the game. If the player pockets the other ball, they then must pocket the 8-ball in the same pocket. If the cue ball is pocketed, the player must then re-rack the balls and begin play again.


A few 8-bool pool basic rules must be followed when playing an 8-ball pool. The following are the most important:

  • The player must first determine which ball is to be pocketed by striking it with the cue ball.
  • After the cue ball has been pocketed, the player must then strike the ball that is closest to the cue ball but not the 8-ball. This is called the "striking ball".
  • If the player pockets the 8-ball before the player's opponent has cleared all of the balls from the table, the player loses the game.
  • If the player pockets the 8-ball and either:
    • The player's opponent has not cleared all of the balls from the table, or
    • The player's opponent has cleared all of the balls from the table, but the 8-ball was pocketed as a result of a foul, and the player's opponent is declared the winner.



Calling the Shots


In 8 ball pool, the player who pockets the 8-ball last wins the game. In addition, the player must call the pocket in which they will be shooting the 8-ball.


There are such of other rules that must be followed in 8 ball pool. For instance, the player cannot sink the cue ball into a pocket. In addition, the player cannot sink the 8 ball into the same pocket as the cue ball. If the player commits a foul, their opponent will be given the opportunity to shoot the cue ball.


If the 8 ball is pocketed on the break, the player wins the game. If the cue ball is pocketed on the break, the player loses the game.
